Leonid Kravchuk: a pre-election visit to Khmelnytsky in 1991

The video shows the visit of Leonid Kravchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR, presidential candidate: meeting at the railway station, talking to the city residents, Kravchuk at the Prigma-Press plant, the plant's canteen, the plant's workshop, and a speech to the workers.


The first presidential election in Ukraine took place on December 1, 1991. Leonid Kravchuk took first place in all regions, except for three regions where Vyacheslav Chornovil won. Kravchuk ran for president as a non-partisan. He held this position from December 5, 1991 to July 19, 1994.
