Raising the flag of Ukraine over the Verkhovna Rada: 1991

In the video, the flag of the Ukrainian SSR is lowered from the flagpole and the Ukrainian flag is attached to it and raised together. People chant and boo the raising of the Soviet flag. A fragment of the rally on Independence Square.

Reference: On September 4, 1991, a rally gathered near the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, where people demanded that the national flag be raised above the dome of the Verkhovna Rada. After lengthy negotiations, MPs voted to raise the flag.
