Interview with Vasyl Kuk, the last commander-in-chief of the UPA, at the celebrations on the occasion of Yaroslava Stetsko's birthday, May 14, 2005.

He talks about the activities of Yaroslava Stetsko, the liberation struggle, the destruction of the Ukrainian elite, OUN and UPA leaders, contemporary youth, and the honoring of heroes. The video shows people in the audience, a speech by politician Ivan Plyushch and Yaroslava Stetsko's niece.

For reference: Vasyl Kuk was a Ukrainian military leader, one of the leaders of the national liberation movement, general-horunzhiy, commander of the UPA-South, second head of the General Secretariat of the UGVR (Ukrainian Supreme Liberation Council), and commander-in-chief of the UPA after the death of Roman Shukhevych.

He was born in the Lviv region on January 11, 1913. He studied at the Catholic University of Lublin, where he headed the OUN student group. In 1954, Cook was arrested. He served his sentence in Soviet camps. After his release, he lived in Kyiv and was engaged in scientific work. After the collapse of the USSR, he published a number of works on the history of the UPA.

Vasyl Kuk died on September 9, 2007. Three years later, a monument to Vasyl Kuk was unveiled in the homeland of the last UPA commander-in-chief.
