Taras Chornovol on the “attempted assassination” of Yanukovych

Ivano-Frankivsk, September 24, 2004. The head of Viktor Yanukovych's election headquarters, Taras Chornovil, comments on the “egg assassination attempt” on the presidential candidate at the airport. He states that it can be qualified as a terrorist act.

Background: On September 24, 2004 in Ivano-Frankivsk, a student of the Precarpathian University threw an egg at presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych. The attempt was a sign of student protest: university students were forced to attend a meeting. As a result of the incident, Viktor Yanukovych was hospitalized.
