Reference: Ihor Blazhkov is a Ukrainian conductor and People's Artist, who headed the Kyiv Chamber Orchestra. From 1988 to 1994, he was the artistic director and chief conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. It was Igor Blazhkov who was responsible for the first performance of Dmitri Shostakovich's XIV Symphony in Ukraine and the creation of the first private chamber orchestra. He revived forgotten names of works and composers.
