The video is a documentary about the Ukrainian singer Nazariy Yaremchuk and the Smerichka Vocal Group.
The life and work of Nazariy Yaremchuk is told by his colleagues in the Smerichka VIA, as well as friends and family, among others: Odarka Fediuk, Nazariy Yaremchuk's godmother, sister Kateryna Yaremchuk, Olena Shevchenko, his first wife, sons Dmytro and Nazariy, daughter Maria, and wife Daryna Yaremchuk.
The film was made on the occasion of the artist's 60th birthday. The film uses fragments of films, materials from the private archives of Daryna Yaremchuk and Levko Dutkivsky, as well as video from the Pshenychnyi Central State Film and Photo Archive.
Reference: Nazarii Yaremchuk was born on November 30, 1951, in the Carpathian village of Rivnia, now a suburb of Vyzhnytsia. He was the fourth child in his family. His father sang in a church choir and his mother acted in a folk theater. On his second attempt, he entered the Geography Department of Chernivtsi University. In 1988, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Culture. He was a soloist of the vocal and instrumental ensemble Smerichka of the Chernivtsi Philharmonic. He is known, in particular, for performing such Ukrainian songs as: “Chervona Ruta”, ‘Vodohrai’, ‘Stozhary’, ‘Hai, Zelenyi Hai’, ‘Rodyna’, ‘Song will be among us’ and many others. During his life, he recorded more than 150 songs. Nazariy Yaremchuk died of cancer on June 30, 1995. He was buried in Chernivtsi.
