Reference: Ivan Marchuk is an outstanding Ukrainian artist, the founder of the unique technique of Plontanism. He was born on May 12, 1936 in the village of Moskalivka, Ternopil region. The International Academy of Contemporary Art in Rome admitted him to the ranks of the "Golden Guild" and elected him an honorary member of the scientific council of the academy. In October 2007, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph included Marchuk in the list of "100 geniuses of our time".
