Catherine's Day

The Telefestival "My folklore Ternopil" issue is dedicated to celebrating the day of the holy great martyr Catherine in the village of Trostyanets, Ternopil region. The video shows ritual action and folk song performances.

Reference: Catherine's Day is celebrated on December 7 (now November 24) and honors the holy great martyr Catherine of Alexandria, the patroness of girls and women. In the folk tradition, girls divined their future husbands and prayed for a happy marriage on this day.
