Story about the restoration of the monument to Peter Stolypin, October 31, 2012.

Commentary of the chairman of the board of the United World Foundation Eduard Prutnik, head of the state archival service Olga Ginzburg.

Background: Petro Stolypin was the Prime Minister of the Russian Empire and a Russian nationalist who actively opposed national autonomy and introduced Stolypin's agrarian reform. His rule was accompanied by harsh repressions, which led to the appearance of such concepts as "Stolypin reaction", "Stolypin tie" (the gallows) and "Stolypin wagon" (wagon for transporting convicts).
