BACKGROUND: Andriy Slyusarchuk was arrested in Kyiv on November 14, 2011. This happened after an investigation by a Lviv newspaper, in which journalists claimed that Slyusarchuk had no medical education and that his diplomas were fake.

Since 2011, the investigation into the case has lasted for over two and a half years. On February 14, 2014, the Sykhiv District Court of Lviv announced the verdict. Andriy Slyusarchuk was sentenced to eight years in prison. The guilty verdict was over 300 pages long. The judge read the verdict for about eight hours.

In June 2016, the High Specialized Court of Ukraine overturned the decisions of the Sykhiv District Court and the appellate court and ordered a retrial in the Lviv Regional Court of Appeal. On June 24, 2016, Dr. P was released from custody. On November 14, 2024, the Lviv court acquitted Andriy Slyusarchuk.
