Reference: Vasyl Slipak is an opera singer, soloist of the Paris National Opera, volunteer, participant in the Revolution of Dignity and hostilities in eastern Ukraine. Born in Lviv on December 20, 1974. A graduate of the "Dudaryk" choir chapel, he later entered the Lviv Higher State Music Institute named after Lysenko (now the Lviv National Music Academy named after Mykola Lysenko).

Vasyl "Myth" Slipak became a volunteer with the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and later joined the hostilities. He fought in Pisky near the Donetsk airport, participated in the battles for Avdiivka. On June 29, 2016, he died in battle while performing a combat mission as a machine gunner in the 1st assault company of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps "Right Sector".
