The Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life of Ukraine is a unique open-air museum located on the southern outskirts of Kyiv, near the ancient Holosiivskyi forest and the historic village of Pyrohiv. It is the largest skansen in Europe, representing the most complete ethnographic collection of Ukraine, covering an area of over 131 hectares. The museum blends seamlessly into the picturesque landscapes that reflect the characteristic features of different regions of the country. It contains unique examples of folk architecture from the 16th to the 20th centuries that preserve the spirit and culture of the nation.

Founded on February 6, 1969, on the initiative of the public and the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, the museum has become a key historical and cultural center of Ukraine. Its activities are aimed at preserving the material and spiritual heritage, as well as developing patriotic education. The museum regularly hosts events to promote the history of Ukraine and increase interest in national culture.
