On January 16, Milove was completely liberated from the enemy, who had suffered significant losses. About 6,000 Soviet soldiers were killed in the battles for the village, which lasted almost a month. On May 7, 1972, the memorial complex “Ukraine to the Liberators” was opened to honor the feat of the soldiers who fought to liberate the first hectare of Ukrainian land. The mass grave contains 1,069 fallen soldiers and officers.
