The first meeting of the new government headed by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The meeting is attended by President Viktor Yushchenko and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn. The president and the prime minister congratulate the ministers on their appointment.
For reference: after the Orange Revolution and the election of the new President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, Yulia Tymoshenko became the Prime Minister of Ukraine. She was appointed by 373 MPs, a record number of votes in the history of appointments of prime ministers. The vote took place on February 4, 2005 (Yulia Tymoshenko had been acting Prime Minister of Ukraine since January 24, 2005). The Cabinet of Ministers headed by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko worked until September 8, 2005, when President Viktor Yushchenko dismissed the government.
