Background: The David Lynch Foundation was founded by filmmaker David Lynch in 2005 to finance the teaching of transcendental meditation in educational institutions. Subsequently, the foundation has significantly expanded its scope of activities, helping such risk groups as war veterans, refugees, victims of domestic violence, the homeless, and prisoners.
