Reference: David Lynch is an American film director, musician, artist and actor. His films are characterized by elements of surrealism, an atmosphere of horror and delirium, strange and repulsive images and original music.

He received Oscar nominations for Best Director for The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986) and Mulholland Drive (2001). His film Wild at Heart (1990) won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Other well-known films include Dune (1984), Lost Highway (1997) and Inland Empire (2006). He is one of the creators of the Twin Peaks series. Lynch has received numerous awards, including the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in 2006 and an honorary Academy Award in 2019.

In February 2022, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Lynch expressed support for the Ukrainian people and condemned the aggressor country.
