Reference: Paulo Coelho visited Ukraine in 2004, where he took part in a book publishers' forum in Lviv, presenting the Ukrainian translation of his book "Eleven Minutes". During the visit, he expressed his admiration for Ukraine and promised to write several articles about the country for the international press. However, in 2014, Coelho stated that the Revolution of Dignity was a coup d'état, and he characterized Western support for Ukraine as a "convenient excuse for Russophobia," which drew criticism from many of his readers.
