In the final match, which took place in Lyon, France, Dynamo confidently defeated Atletico Madrid 3-0. The goals were scored by Oleksandr Zavarov, Oleh Blokhin, and Vadym Yevtushenko. By the way, the match took place a week after the Chornobyl disaster, which at that time was not officially reported in the Soviet Union.
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was an annual club tournament held under the auspices of UEFA. It was played from 1960 to 1999. After that, the tournament was merged with the UEFA Cup.
