The program “Step by Step...” about the development of Ukrainian television and pop music broadcasting. Hosted by Serhiy Lapchenko.
In the 80s, music broadcasting on Ukrainian television was created with the help of PTS - mobile television stations. Fragments of songs are performed by: Nazariy Yaremchuk, Volodymyr Udovychenko, and Raisa Kyrychenko.
A new type of music broadcasting is the use of documentary footage in programs. Fragments of songs are performed by: Vitaliy Bilonozhko, Ivan Popovych, Volodymyr Zasukhin, Anatoliy Mokrenko.
Creation of new programs with the participation of jazz musicians and singers: the bands “Visit” and “Status”, Vadym Lashchuk, Olena Vasylieva.
With the advent of mobile video cameras, a new video was created using cinematic techniques on television, particularly in music broadcasting. Fragments of songs are performed by: VIA Kobza, Ivan Popovych, Mykola Mozgovyi, the Winter Garden group, Sofia Rotaru, and the archives of the 90s - Valeriy Meladze, Natalia Mohylevska, Pavlo Zibrov, and Dmytro Akimov.
New stars of Ukrainian and Russian pop music: Oksana Bilozir, the rock band XX Century, Valery Leontyev, and Sofia Rotaru.
A new direction in music broadcasting is the filming of concert programs: “The Marenychi Trio, VIA Svityaz, Oleh Martsynkivsky, Lilia Sandules, and the Grono band.
New stars in the festival life of Ukrainian pop music: 1989 - opening of the First Festival of Ukrainian Contemporary Song and Popular Music “Chervona Ruta”: Pavlo Dvorsky, Andriy Mykolaychuk, The Brothers Hadukiny; the Maria Festival: Taisiia Povaliy, VIA Svityaz, Inesa Bratusyk and Orest Khoma, Irchyk from Lviv, Vitaliy Bilonozhko.
Another component of music broadcasting on Ukrainian television was author's concerts by Ukrainian composers, poets, and pop singers: Oksana Bilozir, Anatoliy Matviychuk, Olga Kryukova.
