
“100th Anniversary of Viktor Kosenko”: Anniversary Concert

A festive concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer, pianist and teacher Viktor Stepanovych Kosenko.
The program includes works by Viktor Kosenko: three piano etudes (by Yuriy Kot), romances “I have experienced my desires”, “I loved you” (by People’s Artist of Ukraine Valery Buimistr, concertmaster — Volodymyr Knorozok), romances “Speak, speak”, “I am here, Inezilia” (by Lyudmila Davymuka, concertmaster — Iryna Shesterenko), concerto for violin and orchestra (by People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Bazhenov and the orchestra of the National Radio Company of Ukraine, conductor — Volodymyr Sirenko), concerto for piano and orchestra (by Honored Artist of Ukraine Etella Chupryk).
Reference: Viktor Kosenko is an outstanding composer, a leading figure in Ukrainian piano music. He is known for his lyrical works and arrangements of folk songs. His work combined romanticism and folklore, and also included a significant number of works for children. Kosenko also made an important contribution to musical pedagogy.
