Folk Music Ensemble “Guk”

A feature film-concert dedicated to the amateur folk ensemble “Guk”. Ukrainian folk melodies and songs are performed using ancient Ukrainian instruments (kozobas, bagpipes, bassolya).

The artistic director of the ensemble is Kasyan Yevchenko.

Reference: The folk music ensemble “Guk” was founded in 1986 from an amateur collective in the village of Zhovtneve, Zhytomyr region. The collective became famous due to its participation in numerous international festivals and filming for Ukrainian television. “Guk” received the title of “People’s Amateur Collective” in 1987, and in 2006 Kasyan Dmytrovych was awarded the title of Master of Folk Art. In 2019, an international folk music festival was founded in his honor.
