Sports life: 1984

The program “No Sport Without Miracles”, aired on New Year's Eve, summarizes the sports life in 1984. Hosted by Valentin Shcherbachev.

The program tells about: a tournament of football stars that took place in Brazil: fragments of the matches between the national teams of Brazil and Europe, the match Brazil - Italy, Brazil - USSR; Oleg Blokhin, who is walking with his young daughter Irina, talks about football; the champions in freestyle wrestling, the Biloglazov brothers, in the studio with Valentin Shcherbachev, talk about rhythmic gymnastics and other sports; gymnast Zhanna Buryak shares her passion for sports; Serhiy Bubka recalls his first jump; the champion of the Thessaloniki Olympics in chess recalls the competition; fragments of the USSR-Czech Republic hockey match, training of young hockey players.

The program uses fragments of the cartoon “How the Cossacks Played Football”, as well as concert performances by the band “A La Carte”, Svitlana Sira and the band “Synthesis”, and the song “Paper Airplane” by Jaak Joala.
