Reference: On April 2, 2007, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko signed a decree on the early termination of the powers of the Verkhovna Rada, accusing the parliamentary majority of violating the constitutional procedure. This decision caused a political crisis: the government and parliament did not recognize the decree, insisting on its unconstitutionality. At the NSDC meeting, Yanukovych declares that elections are possible only after the decision of the Constitutional Court, while Yushchenko insists on holding them in the near future.
