500th Anniversary of the Zaporizhian Sich

The documentary film “There is no translation for the Cossack lineage” is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Zaporizhian Sich and the holding of the Days of Cossack Glory in the village of Kapulivka, Nikopol district, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Reference: The Kakhovka Reservoir, created in the 1950s, flooded the fertile lands of the Dnieper floodplains and the historical area of ​​Velikiy Lug, an ancient territory of the Cossack freemen. In June 2023, as a result of the dam being blown up by the Russian occupiers, the reservoir rapidly emptied, revealing flooded lands and remnants of the Cossack heritage, including part of the New Sich and the Pokrovsk Sich Church.
