Heorhiy Narbut: Insignia of the Ukrainian State

The TV film "Unfinished Portrait. Heorhiy Narbut" is dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian artist Heorhiy Narbut. It tells about the life and creative path, contains photos and works of the artist from the personal archive of the family. Memories of the artist were shared by his son, Danylo Narbut.

Reference: Heorhiy Narbut is a Ukrainian graphic artist and illustrator, one of the most prominent masters of book graphics of the early 20th century. The author of the first Ukrainian state symbols - banknotes and postage stamps of the Ukrainian People's Republic, co-creator of the State Emblem and Seal of the Ukrainian State. Narbut was the rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts and had a great influence on the formation of a new Ukrainian artistic style in graphics. His legacy, in particular, "Ukrainian Alphabet", remains an example of high artistic skill.
