55th Anniversary of Ukrainian Television: How It All Began

The author's program "Forward, to the Past" is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the formation of Ukrainian Television. Television veteran Oleksiy Odynets shares his thoughts and memories of the first steps of television, talks about the first employees of the Kyiv Television Center, the studio that was at "Khreshchatyk, 26", the first "live" broadcasts.

The program uses archival footage and materials from the film and video collection of the National Television of Ukraine.

Fragments of the documentary-journalistic video film UT-1 "Earth and People" (1979), a photo of the equipment room with tape recorders of the TLC, a photo of the innovative director Viktor Kisin, fragments of the film "The Last Evidence of Kings", in the frame - international observer Valentyn Dunayev. Fragment of the program ""Interclub"" (1970), video footage of the Chernobyl accident, photos of television workers who worked at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the first days after the accident.
