Reference: The hexachlorobenzene landfill in Kalush city (Ivano-Frankivsk region) contained over 11 thousand tons of toxic waste generated as a result of the activities of the Oriana chemical enterprise. In 2010, the authorities declared the area an ecological emergency zone and began liquidating the landfill and transporting hexachlorobenzene for disposal outside Ukraine.
