Reference: The AN-140 plane crash occurred on December 23, 2002, near the Iranian city of Erdestan. The airplane belonged to the Aeromist-Kharkiv airline and was flying from Kharkiv to Isfahan with a stopover in Trabzon. The crash killed all 44 people on board: 38 passengers (33 Ukrainians and 5 Russians) and 6 crew members. The plane crashed on approach, and the cause of the accident is believed to be crew error. The plane was carrying leading Ukrainian and Russian aircraft construction experts who were participating in a project to organize the production of the AN-140 in Iran.
