Reference: Lev (Levko) Mykolayovych Revutsky is a Ukrainian composer, teacher, musicologist and public figure, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Hero of Socialist Labor. A representative of the national composer school, a student of Mykola Lysenko and Reinhold Glier, author of symphonies, concertos, piano and choral music. He developed the traditions of folklorism, created numerous arrangements of folk songs, edited the works of Mykola Lysenko. Professor of the Kyiv Conservatory, formed a generation of Ukrainian composers.
