Reference: Kerch is one of the most ancient cities of Ukraine, founded in the 6th century BC as the Greek polis of Panticapaeum. During the ancient period, the city was the capital of the Bosporan Kingdom, an important trade and craft center that united Greek, Scythian and other multi-ethnic communities. Archaeological research has uncovered numerous monuments, including burial mounds, ceramics, jewelry, and religious objects. Since the occupation of Crimea in 2014, russian authorities have systematically removed archaeological finds from Kerch, in violation of international law.
