Reference: Liubov Trokhymivna Mala (January 13, 1919 - April 14, 2003) was a prominent Ukrainian physician, therapist and cardiologist, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Scientist of the Ukrainian SSR and Hero of Ukraine. She founded the Institute of Therapy in Kharkiv and was the first to introduce a system of staged treatment of myocardial infarction in Ukraine, and trained more than 200 candidates and doctors of sciences. On her initiative, cardiology departments were organized throughout the country, and the Institute of Therapy now bears her name.
