Reference: Vasyl Boroday is a Ukrainian sculptor, academician, professor, author of monumental works that became iconic for Ukrainian Soviet art of the second half of the 20th century. Among his most famous works are the monumental sculpture "Motherland", the monument "To the Founders of Kyiv - Brothers Kyi, Shchek, Khoriv and Their Sister Lybid" (1982), and the memorial composition "And Mother Waits...". He worked in the genres of easel and monumental sculpture, and was the rector of the Kyiv Art Institute (1966–1973).
