Panteleimon Kulish and his ‘Black Council’

2004, National Television Company of Ukraine. The programme is dedicated to the prominent figure of the Ukrainian national revival, writer Panteleimon Kulish, and his first Ukrainian historical novel, The Black Council.

The video features: opening credits, the literary edition of ‘The Black Council’, writer Stanislav Telnyuk talking about the novel and its author, excerpts from the work performed by Kostyantyn Stepanov, Nataliya Tsyganenko and Valeriy Shevchenko, and Ukrainian folk songs performed by bandura player Andriy Bobyr.
