Defenders' Remembrance Day, 2021

Reference: The Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state, is celebrated annually on August 29. The memorial day was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine in 2019 and is dedicated to the tragic events of breaking out of the encirclement near Ilovaisk on August 29, 2014. The symbol of this day is the sunflower, which reminds of the mass deaths of Ukrainian soldiers in August 2014.
