Commentary by Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Coordination Press Centre of the Defence and Security Forces of the South, on Russia's massive shelling of critical infrastructure across the country.

Background: On 10 October 2022, Russian forces carried out a large-scale missile and air strike on Ukrainian territory, targeting mainly civilian and critical infrastructure. At least 14-20 people were killed and another 97-108 wounded. Many infrastructure facilities were damaged: power facilities, residential buildings, critical facilities in several regions and in the city of Kyiv. There were major power outages: parts of Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil and other regions were left without electricity.
