The documentary film "Shakhtarsky Duke" is dedicated to the Ukrainian singer Anatoly Solovyanenko. The biography and creative path of Anatoly Solovyanenko are told, and it contains archival recordings of the singer's performances. The text was read by Yuriy Kovalenko.

Reference: Anatoly Solovyanenko is a Ukrainian opera singer (lyric-dramatic tenor), People's Artist of the USSR (1975), laureate of the Lenin (1980) and Shevchenko (1997) prizes, Hero of Ukraine (2008, posthumously). In 1962 he made his debut at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater, and later performed in leading theaters in the world, in particular at the Metropolitan Opera. He performed 17 opera parts, hundreds of romances and Ukrainian folk songs, and left a significant discographic legacy. His art is considered a reference model of the Ukrainian vocal school of the second half of the 20th century.
