Reference: Ivan Marchuk (born 1936) is a Ukrainian painter, People's Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (1997), founder of the author's technique of plantanism. His oeuvre includes about 5,000 works, systematized in more than ten cycles, including "The Voice of My Soul", "Shevchenkiana", "White Planet". He held more than 150 personal exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, was included in the rating of "100 Geniuses of Modernity" (The Daily Telegraph, 2007).
