Dovdika: Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is a monastery complex of the 11th–19th centuries, which forms one of the leading architectural ensembles of Ukraine with caves, the Assumption Cathedral and the Great Lavra bell tower. UNESCO included the lavra, together with St. Sophia Cathedral, on the World Heritage List in 1990. The territory of the Upper Lavra is home to the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve (since 1996), which takes care of 144 buildings, 122 of which are historical and cultural monuments.
