Family burial of the Kharytonenkos

Sumy TV. The August 21, 2010 issue of the program "Treasury" is dedicated to the history of the family burial of the Kharytonenko family.

On the video: Central Sumy cemetery, various plans; archival photographs of Sumy from the 19th century, the history of the Kharytonenko family; creation of the monument "Angel with a Girl and the Crucified Christ".

Reference: the Kharytonenko family burial in Sumy is a significant monument of memorial art of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The sculptural compositions of the tomb are made of white Italian marble by the French sculptor Aristide Croisy. The most famous work of the complex is the monument "Angel with a Child", purchased at the World Industrial Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The composition is distinguished by a high level of plasticity, realism of forms and is a unique example of European sculptural art in Ukraine.
