Reference: Odesa National I. I. Mechnikov University is one of the oldest classical universities in Ukraine and the oldest university in the south of the country, founded in 1865 as the Imperial Novorossiysk University. Since its foundation, it has played a key role in shaping the system of higher education, science, and culture of Southern Ukraine and has served as the basis for the establishment of a number of independent higher education institutions in Odesa. The university is a multidisciplinary academic and research center with well-established scientific schools and stable international academic ties.
