Reference: The Razumovsky brothers, Alexei and Kirill, were from the Cossack environment of the Hetmanate, who in the middle of the 18th century occupied exceptionally influential positions at the court of the Russian Empire. Alexei Razumovsky, as a favorite and probable morganatic husband of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, became one of the key informal factors in court politics. Kyrylo Razumovsky was the president of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences and at the same time the last hetman of Left-Bank Ukraine, carried out administrative and judicial reforms and was associated with the restoration of the hetman's residence in Baturyn. Their activities are an example of the combination of the integration of the Ukrainian elite into imperial structures with the support of autonomous institutions of the Hetmanate.
