Reference: Mykhailivka is a village on the Psel River, founded in 1675, known for the participation of residents in anti-tax and anti-grain procurement protests in 1932 and significant human losses during the Holodomor of 1932–1933. In the modern period, Mykhailivka is distinguished by its preserved natural and cultural landscape (Petrovsky and Cossack oaks, Poltava tier), a monument to the Mazepa people, and local gastronomic tradition. The preparation of borscht in the Lebedyn region is included in the list of elements of the intangible cultural heritage of the Sumy region.
