The film "Sonata" is dedicated to the Cossack family of the Lyzohubs and the cultural contribution of its representatives to the history of Ukraine.

Reference: The Lyzohubs were a Ukrainian Cossack-starshyn, later noble family of the 17th–19th centuries, whose representatives held high military and administrative positions, and their estates were concentrated mainly in the Chernihiv and Poltava regions. The family included Andriy Lyzohub, close to Taras Shevchenko, as well as relatives of Mykola Gogol on the maternal line and a number of prominent statesmen and cultural figures.
