The Bus Factory and Other Chronicles: 1959

Lviv Television, 1959. The video shows: stained-glass artisans at work, grinding machines, finished products: goblets, glasses, candy dishes; a bus factory, machines, the production of parts and screws, a factory worker giving an interview; a poster, the State Museum of Ukrainian Art (now the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum), a sculpture exhibition; the diversion of the Bug River, a dam, workers operating heavy machinery; Lenin Collective Farm, farm, cows and pigs, men gathering hay, milkmaids, store; medical office, school, music club, boys and girls playing chess, library.

We are digitizing and publishing the video as part of a collaboration between Suspilne and the State Archives of Lviv Oblast.
