Reference: Serge Lifar is a Ukrainian ballet dancer, ballet master and dance theorist, born in the suburbs of Kyiv, known as one of the most outstanding dancers of the 20th century and the founder of neoclassicism in ballet. For over 30 years, he headed the ballet troupe of the Paris Grand Opera, staged over 200 performances, founded the Institute of Choreography at the Grand Opera and taught at the Sorbonne, receiving France's highest awards, including the Legion of Honor.
