Development of Hydroarchaeology in Ukraine

Reference: Hydroarchaeology is a branch of archaeological science that studies underwater and coastal monuments of cultural heritage: flooded settlements, ships, port facilities and other objects that have become underwater as a result of natural or anthropogenic factors. In Ukraine, hydroarchaeology is developing mainly in the water areas of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as in the flooded areas of large rivers — the Dnipro, Dniester and Danube, where numerous monuments of the ancient, Cossack and medieval eras are concentrated.
