Vasyliv — a town in Galician Rus’

In the video: views of Vasyliv, the banks of the Dniester, historical artefacts relating to Vasyliv from the exhibitions at the Chernivtsi Local History Museum, fragments of an ancient white-stone church, a stone cross bearing inscriptions about the defeat of the Janissaries in 1698, a cave monastery, and karst caves in the area.

The history of the ancient settlement and the archaeological finds were commented on by specialists from the Bukovina Centre for Archaeological Research at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University: research fellow Bohdan Ridush and Serhiy Pyvovarov, Doctor of Historical Sciences (2007) and director of the centre (1998–2013).
