Traditions of the Slovak community in the Perechyn region

Transcarpathian Television, 2004. The art program "Memory of Childhood" is dedicated to the Slovak national minority in the village of Turya-Remeta, Transcarpathian region and their Christmas traditions.

In the video: a girl prays in Slovak, recites poetry, a shopka; acquaintance with a Slovak family, Slovak traditions, cooking traditional dishes; caroling; a story about the cultural and material heritage of the Perechyn region, where the Slovak national minority lives compactly.

Reference: Slovaks of Ukraine are one of the indigenous national minorities of Transcarpathia, the majority of whose representatives historically live in the Uzhhorod, Perechyn, Mukachevo and Velykoberezny districts of the region. In Perechyn, the Slovak community was formed as a result of centuries-old migration processes and has preserved certain linguistic, cultural and ethnographic features, which are part of the multinational heritage of the Transcarpathian region.
