To the 100th anniversary of Sergei Korolev

Channel "Zhytomyr", 2007. The program "Through Thorns to the Stars" is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian scientist and designer Sergei Korolev, his path in science and the peculiarities of recognition in Soviet times.

Reference: Sergei Pavlovich Korolev (1907–1966) was a Ukrainian scientist and designer, a native of Zhytomyr, known as the ‘father of practical cosmonautics’. He headed the Soviet space programme, organised the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite (1957) and the first human flight into space (1961). Although his achievements were appropriated by Soviet and Russian history, Korolev was Ukrainian by origin and upbringing.
