
"History through the eyes of a Ukrainian": riddles of Scythian history

November 28, 1995. Lviv State Television and Radio Company. The program "History through the eyes of a Ukrainian", issues №8 and №9, is devoted to the history of Scythian tribes on the territory of the Northern Black Sea region.
Issue №8 deals with Scythian tribes on the territory of Ukraine, their tactics of warfare and art. Historian Professor Valentin Moroz speaks of the influence of Scythian art and denies the claim that the Scythians belong to Russian history. Graphic artist Mykhailo Bilyk talks about the influence of Scythian jewelry motifs on the work of modern artists, Scythian burial jewelry in Naples, and Scythian motifs in folk art of the beginning of the 20th century.
In issue №9, Anatoly Nesterenko talks about the jewelry found in Tovstaya Mohyla and shows illustrations with their images. Valentin Moroz talks about the decline of Great Scythia and the mutual influence of Scythian tribes and inhabitants of the Greek colonies of the Northern Black Sea region. The director of the Lviv Regional Scientific and Methodological Institute of Education, Roman Shiyan, talks about the publication of methodical manuals for teachers, the lack of didactic materials for schools, and shares his thoughts on the revised film.
